Dancer of the Week: Ellington Snell

This week, we are so excited to celebrate Ellington Snell as our EMDC Student of the Week!

Elli is 10 years old and in 5th grade, and she has been dancing for 7 years. Over the years, she has grown into a confident, hard-working dancer who brings energy, determination, and joy into the studio.

Elli studies Ballet, Jazz, Tap, Hip Hop, Lyrical, and Acro, but right now, her favorite style is Acro. It makes perfect sense, because her favorite skill is a back tuck- and if you know Elli, you know she loves the challenge of working toward big skills and celebrating the moment they finally click.

One of the things that makes Elli so special is the way she keeps believing in herself, even when something is difficult. She shared that she feels proud at dance when she accomplishes a new skill she has been working on. That kind of determination is such an important part of being a dancer, and we love watching her confidence grow with every new challenge.

When asked about her favorite part of dance class, Elli said, “All of it!” She also shared that one of her favorite recital memories was being paired with her friend Ellie-May and getting to do solo features in Acro dances. Those moments are such a beautiful part of dance. The friendships, the teamwork, the spotlight moments, and the memories dancers carry with them long after the music ends.

Elli also had wonderful advice for a brand-new dancer who might be nervous:

“There will be times when you mess up, and times when you do great, but never forget to believe in yourself!”

That is exactly the kind of encouragement we love to hear from our dancers. Dance is not about being perfect. It is about showing up, trying again, learning from your teachers, supporting your friends, and finding confidence along the way.

For a few fun “this or that” answers, Elli chose Ballet over Jazz, Turns over Leaps, Costume Try On Day over Pajama Week, Stage Lights over Studio Mirrors, and Missing Dance Shoes over Missing Water Bottle.

When she finished the sentence, “The thing I love most about EMDC is…” Elli said:

“Learning from my teachers and dancing with my friends!”

We are so proud of you, Elli. Thank you for bringing your confidence, determination, and bright spirit into the studio. Keep believing in yourself! We love watching you grow!
