Dancer of the Week: River Lee

Meet this week’s EMDC Dancer of the Week: River Lee!

River is 3 years old, and this is her very first year dancing at EMDC. She currently takes Hip Hop, and she brings such a bright, joyful energy into the studio. With her big smile and sweet personality, River reminds us exactly why these first dance experiences are so special.

Her favorite part of dance class is getting stickers, stamps, and rewards, and the song that makes her want to dance is “Roar” by Katy Perry. When she grows up, River says she wants to be a doctor.

For her “this or that” choices, River picked ballet, jumps, sparkles, freeze dance, stickers, dancing on stage, and watching the big kids dance. We love seeing her curiosity, excitement, and confidence grow each week.

When asked to finish the sentence, “The thing I love most about EMDC is…” River answered simply:

“It is fun.”

That is exactly what we hope dance feels like at this age; fun, joyful, encouraging, and full of moments that help our youngest dancers feel proud of themselves.
